New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for entries under the Prime Minister’s Mentorship Scheme for Young Authors – YUVA 3.0 – to June 10, 2025, in response to overwhelming interest from aspiring writers across the country.
Launched with the aim of nurturing young literary talent and promoting Indian heritage, the PM-YUVA 3.0 initiative invites authors under the age of 30 to submit their original book proposals. Selected candidates will receive mentorship, publishing support, and a scholarship as part of the government’s efforts to create a pool of young writers in Indian languages and English.
The extension was announced with the message “आपने कहा, हमने सुना!” (You said it, we listened!), encouraging those who were unable to meet the earlier deadline to apply without delay.
Applicants can submit their entries at: innovateindia.mygov.in/yuva-2025
Under the scheme, 75 young authors will be selected and mentored by established writers. The programme is part of the government’s broader vision to empower youth and foster a culture of reading and writing across the nation.
What is PM-YUVA?
YUVA, which stands for Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors, is a national-level scheme designed to nurture young literary talent under the age of 30. First launched in 2021 by the Ministry of Education under the aegis of the National Education Policy 2020, the initiative is being implemented by the National Book Trust (NBT), India.
Now in its third edition, PM-YUVA aims to promote reading, writing, and book culture among youth while reflecting India’s rich heritage, history, and contemporary narrative in both English and Indian languages.
