Lucknow: Bhanvi Singh, wife of Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, the national president of the Jansatta Dal Loktantrik Party and Kunda’s controversial MLA, has sought justice from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She took to social media platform X to allege that MLC Akshay Pratap Singh alias Gopal Ji is being shielded in a case of fraud and forgery.
Bhanvi Singh has demanded an impartial investigation into the matter. The issue, which involves Raghuraj Pratap Singh, a legislator from Kunda, and his wife, has resurfaced after over a year. In February 2023, Bhanvi filed a case against MLC & former former MP Akshay Pratap Singh with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police under various sections of the IPC, including 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 109 (abetment), and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
Bhanvi accused Akshay Pratap of forging her signatures to acquire shares of her company. She alleged that he created fake digital signatures in her name and replaced her as the company director. The EOW has been investigating the case, but no action has been taken in the past year and a half.
Expressing her frustration, Bhanvi posted a message on X on Thursday afternoon, appealing to Home Minister Amit Shah for intervention. She stated that despite filing a complaint against Akshay Pratap Singh and seven others in February 2023, and recording her statement, there has been no progress in the investigation.
Bhanvi accused the EOW of trying to protect Akshay Pratap Singh and urged the Home Minister to ensure action is taken. The EOW had registered a case against Akshay Pratap Singh from Amethi, along with Anil Kumar Singh, Indra Dev Patel, Umesh Kumar Nigam from Kunda, Hari Om Shankar Srivastava, Arun Kumar Rastogi, a CA from Lucknow, and Ram Dev Yadav, along with other unidentified individuals.
Bhanvi Singh’s company, Shri The Properties Private Limited, owns several properties in Amethi, Lucknow, and the Delhi-NCR region. Allegations have been made that the accused were involved in the illegal trading of benami properties through the company.
